This is my first page of my new blog and I just want to express admiration.
Is it not incredible that one can turn on one's television and see great stars whose luminosity will never dim? -So easy to have them there to appreciate and admire.
Last night James Garner walked into a dangerous compartment in a train which was barreling along in the movie, "The Great Escape".
And I just thought-- doesn't matter what he does there's always a twinkle and an unmistakable sense of warmth of heart.
Is there someone in the world who doesn't like James Garner? I don't really think so. Really.
Is there anyone, anyone at all whom this gentle man has not treated with respect? No.
Have I ever heard or read anything but gratefulness and good feelings toward this man in all my years in Hollywood? No.
He is a rare treasure. May he live forever.
--signing off for now,
But come and see me this fall in legendary Henry Jaglom's "Hollywood Dreams" with stunning new find, Tanna Frederick and Justin Kirk ( from Mike Nichol's, "Angels in America").
Then just a LITTLE later, I'll be starring with the ever unsinkable, piquant genius who is Alan Cumming in his next directed feature, "Suffering Man's Charity", with Anne Heche, David Bereanaz, and Carrie Fisher.
And I'll return here, to my diary to talk about people I've known: Jack Clayton, Jack Nicholson, Alfred Hitchcock and others. And to talk about people I wish I'd known.
In 1970, I turned down a movie with Mr. Garner called, I think, "Support Your Local Sheriff" and I've been biting my dialing- my- agent- finger ever since!

yay! "...no Chad, I've killed you."
Were you considered to play Lois Lane in 1978?
Karen - You are a natural wonder and I adore and respect your work. My fave being Day of the Locust. How was it to make that movie?
Karen,
I have just re-diacovered "Burnt Offerings" after 3 decades. "Trilogy" was good, but your ability to convey the campy sense of commitment to the mansion ws great...How was Oliver Reed to work with?
Thanks so much,
B. Adamovich
Hi From The UK. What do you consider your best performance also what film was the most enjoyable to work on.

Hey there, Karen,
Wow, it was cool to find you here. Even more cool is the fact that Trilogy of Terror was released on DVD this week! I remember being 12 years old and watching that with my mom ... we were scared to death! Our other favorite, Burnt Offerings, still finds its way into the VCR a couple of times a month.
I'm happy to be able to tell you what a pleasure its been to view your work over all these years. You are timeless! Few actresses could have pulled off the roles you have played, and they are deservedly classics now.
Hope you are well! Jo :)
Dear Karen- Just wanted to say what an absolute pleasure it was to meet you at the 2006 Festival Of Fear in Toronto. You are a truly beautiful and extremely down to earth person. You made me feel so comfortable and I was soooo honored that you remembered my name hours after meeting you. You completely made my day, or maybe I should say my life. You are a treasure to the movie world and I can't wait to see your new projects and maybe some old that I haven't encountered yet. Keep up the amazing work and stay true and beautiful.
Regards, Stephanie

Hi Karen, I was your childhood friend along with Marlene! My absolute favorite work of yours is your role in The Great Gatsby. It still blows me away everytime I watch that wonderful film! I just started taking piano lessons again and remembered us studying the Chopin waltzes under the instruction of Mr. Bowen! I am revisiting Chopin. Do you still play the piano? Laina Verschoor Gerace
